StJPII Volunteer Approval/CMGConnect

Volunteer Sign Up

 

To become StJPII Volunteer Approved for the first time or for your CMG 5 year refresher:

  1. Take CMGConnect Safe Haven online training according to Archdiocesan policy and provide StJPII with your certificate of completion. Follow the CMGConnect registration instructions to sign in and register for classes via CMGConnect.org.

    • Choose category number 4 titled Private Catholic School Employee/Volunteer.

  2. Complete the StJPII Volunteer Packet (download link at the bottom of the page). It includes the following forms to complete:
    • Am I Volunteer Approved? Checklist
    • Background Check Consent Form
    • The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Volunteer Code of Conduct 
  3. It will take 4 to 6 weeks for verification after all paperwork is turned into the StJPII office.
  4. Volunteers must have a picture taken to create a StJPII Volunteer approved badge.
  5. Volunteers must have their driver's license scanned at our front desk every time you volunteer on campus.

 

If you are due for a 5 year refresher and your most recent training was VIRTUS, use these directions to sign into CMGConnect.org:

  1. Use your VIRTUS username and the password 1234.

  2. DO NOT create a new account in CMGConnect.

  3. Once the individual logs into their CMGConnect account, they will be able to change their password
  4. Take CMGConnect Safe Haven online training according to Archdiocesan policy and provide StJPII with your certificate of completion. Follow the CMGConnect registration instructions to sign in and register for classes via CMGConnect.org.
  5. Complete the Background Check Consent Form from the volunteer packet link below.
  6. Complete and sign the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Volunteer Code of Conduct from the volunteer packet link below.
  7. It will take 4 to 6 weeks for verification after all paperwork is turned into the StJPII office.

    CMG Safe Haven online training has replaced VIRTUS training. The training consists of three vignette style training videos that are approximately 60 minutes. These trainings are available in English and Spanish. We will no longer offer live trainings, all Safe Haven trainings will only be available online.
    • All individuals must complete Safe Haven training and be background checked prior to the start of employment and/or volunteer service.
    • A refresher training must be completed every 5 years.
