One of the reasons that John Paul II Catholic School has been so successful is the dedication and commitment of the school community.  From its inception, John Paul II has been blessed with many people who have shared their time, talent and treasure in order to ensure the children an excellent academic experience in a wonderful environment.  By its active involvement in the school, the community continually models its faith and commitment to the students.

John Paul II is fortunate to have several parent organizations that coordinate activities for the students and parents at the school.   The John Paul II Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has a rich history of providing quality student programs and donating countless hours of volunteer time toward these programs.  Programs such as Art-a-la-carte, Library Helpers, Room Parents, Banking Day, crossing Guards, Lunch Bunch, New Parent Orientation, Newcomers' Coffee, and Birthday Recognitions are just a few of the many ways the PTO provides support to the school.  Financially, the PTO annually donates funds raised from their events and fundraisers to purchase classroom supplies and instructional aids for the students.

In addition to the PTO, the JPII Dad's Club is a social organization that hosts events such as the annual golf and basketball tournaments, which provide the fathers a means to socialize and become acquainted.

As John Paul II is an independent Catholic school, fundraising plays an important role in the school's community activities.  The annual Auction Dinner Gala and Raffle is a community-building event that directly benefits the school and students.  By participating in the auction, those in the John Paul II community develop lasting relationships and, at the same time, provide an invaluable service to the school.

However, fundraising and volunteering are not the only community activities available at John Paul II. Members of the John Paul II community gather and worship together at the weekly Masses sharing with the students their commitment to their religious education. Other school events include Grandparents' Day, a day where students perform for and introduce their grandparents to life at John Paul II; the 5K Fun Run, featuring students, parents, and others competing to raise funds for a local charity; and Fun-in-the-Sun Day and Tuition Raffle, an annual field day giving parents and students an opportunity to mingle and enjoy a fun-filled day of indoor and outdoor activities. The PTO Community Dinners Christmas Program, and Spring Program are several other events that bring the John Paul II community together.

The many activities and social and volunteer organizations at John Paul II offer something for everyone and opportunities for involvement that can be tailored to fit any schedule.  So whether a parent has one or many hours available, there is a place for him or her at John Paul II.

People, both children and adults, are the key to an exceptional educational experience at John Paul II.  For it is through the dedication and talents of the many people who comprise the school community that John Paul II has grown to become an award-winning school and will be assured continued success in the future.
