At John Paul II Catholic School, we are continually looking for ways to open up greater lines of communication with our parents. Therefore, the administration hosts a meeting with parents once or twice throughout the course of a school year. The purpose is threefold: first, to provide an opportunity for the administration to get to know more John Paul II parents and build a rapport with them; second, to get their input on issues and challenges facing our school; and third to address concerns mentioned in our parent surveys. The goal is to enjoy fellowship while engaging in positive problem-solving.
A Principal’s Cabinet meeting was held on October 24, 2011, with over 60 parents attending. (These parents were randomly selected to receive invitations.) Three topics from our parent surveys were selected for discussion: PTO opportunities, the counseling program, and technology. These discussions prompted many questions with respect to the three topics. The following link is a summary of the answers which we would like to share with all of our parents.
October 2011 Principal's Cabinet Report
A Principal’s Cabinet meeting was held on April 26, 2012, with approximately 40 parents attending. The format for this meeting differed somewhat from the previous Cabinet meeting in October, because it was noted that parents had used much of their discussion time seeking information. Therefore, for this meeting, Mrs. Hengst prepared a Power Point presentation about the JPII curriculum, and then opened the floor for questions. The following is a summary of her presentation, which we would like to share with all of our parents.
April 2012 Principal’s Cabinet Report
A Principal’s Coffee was held on September 27, 2012, with approximately 15 parents attending. This meeting differed somewhat from the previous Principal’s Cabinet Breakfasts, to which randomly-selected parents were invited. The administration wanted to include all parents who wished to attend, so instead of sending invitations to a limited number for a breakfast, the event was advertised in the Tuesday newsletter as being open to all, with only light refreshments to be served. The topics selected for this session were Love and Logic and bullying. The following is a summary of the meeting, which we would like to share with all of our parents.
