A year-long program; overview of theatre history; developing the actor’s basic tools, including body (pantomime, movement), voice (projection, inflection, articulation) and mind (creativity, imagination, emotion); study of theatrical conventions and stage terms; characterization and improvisation skills; basics of sets, props and costumes; two plays performed during the year; performances are major grades and attendance is mandatory; students may be asked to provide simple costume pieces
